John Burr joins global executive search firm Erevena to further strengthen financial services.

  • John has over 20 years’ search experience across EMEA, the Americas, and APAC in B2B Financial Services.
  • Erevena has substantially grown its FinTech practice in the last five years to approximately 25-30% of its annual revenue, working with companies such as Earthport, eShares, eToro, OpenFin, Prodigy Finance, and R3.
  • B2B FS continues to transform as technology heavily impacts the reconfiguration of sell and buy side markets, the evolution of passive investment, and growth in ETFs, Index, Risk, Analytics, Exchanges, and data providers.
The addition of John to the team will bring strategic leadership to our efforts and growth across B2B financial services. We strongly believe that as a result, we are better positioned to help VC backed companies that partner with traditional financial services, as well as established financial services businesses being transformed through technology.

Erevena is focused on working with companies that are trying to change markets and do things differently. We have established our footprint in consumer financial services, where we have worked with companies like Nutmeg, 118 Money, Varo, Crowdcube, and Azimo.

In recent years, we have increasingly been working with companies in the capital markets and B2B financial services space, and have witnessed first-hand the seismic changes occurring across the sector.

Having someone of John’s experience join the team is hugely exciting and will help to grow our work in these areas substantially. His connectivity and insight into this market made him a natural team fit.

Dan Hyde, CEO, Erevena

Erevena have a deep understanding of the businesses they work with, both commercially and from a tech perspective. With leverage from their VC networks, they are increasingly aligned with FinTech.

Given the innovations in technology, new regulatory initiatives, and the necessity for fundamental change in traditional FS businesses in order to earn their cost of capital, our combined experience across technology and financial services allows us to bring a unique and creative perspective to secure the most sought after and diverse senior professional talent.
